Caravans 'are often central heated'

Posted by Freddy Morton

People considering a motorhome trip this winter may have Propex caravan water heaters to ensure they have a supply of hot water, but new research from Park Resorts suggests double glazing may be equally crucial.

The caravan holiday company revealed that 75 per cent of the caravans sold on their parks in 2011 were double-glazed and central heated, indicating the importance caravanners place on retaining heat through the colder months.

Park Resorts pointed out that this is the highest number of caravans with these modifications they have ever recorded.

Gemma Francis, senior brand manager from Park Resorts, said staying cosy despite the UK's chilly weather is a priority for many people.

"Most parks are open throughout the winter months exclusively for owners, who don't want to give up their holiday time because the weather has turned colder," added Ms Francis.

Drivers considering setting out on winter roads for a holiday should think about having winter tyres fitted, according to seasonal tyre company Tyresafe.
