Late summer is the best time to buy a caravan

Posted by Freddy Morton

Brits looking for a new motorhome or caravan accessories and equipment are in luck as late summer is when manufacturers launch their new models for next year.

A spokeswoman from the National Caravan Council (NCC) said that now is the perfect time to be making a caravan purchase.

"This is doubly good if you are looking to buy the latest hi-spec model. The next few months is the time to order it, but if you are happy with a 2011 model, there may be deals to be done," she explained.

The spokeswomen said that caravans in the 2012 range will offer less weight and more home comforts to their occupants, while improvements have been made in practical areas such as with insulation and fridge-freezer capacity.

Val Chapman, associate-editor of Go Caravan, explained that Bailey's Orion range, the Swift Group's Sprites and a handful of Elddis Xplore and Avante models top the best-sellers list, while Freedom are the shortest and lightest.
