Caravanners investing in new Truma Therme caravan water heaters
may be interested to hear that Skoda has scooped awards after passing vigorous towcar assessments.
The company picked up two titles in the prestigious Practical Caravan Towcar Awards 2010, with the Superb Estate 2.0 TDI CR 170 SE being named best car in the 1575-1724kg class.
Its sister, the Octavia Estate 1.6 TDI CR GreenLine, won the Green Award, meaning it could be ideal for eco-conscious holidaymakers whose mobile homes feature Morco caravan water heaters
Practical Caravan praised the Superb, saying: "The estate is simply huge. There are 633 litres with the seats upright and a huge 1865 litres if they are folded forward.
"Rear-seat space is exceptional for a family estate, with enough head and legroom to rival some luxury cars. Size isn't everything, however, and fortunately the Superb tows, well, superbly."
Caravan holidays are increasing in popularity as the staycation phenomenon and interest in domestic tourism continue to grow.
